Doctors Charged in the Fatal Case of Adnan Kivan

The Office of the Prosecutor General and the National Police have charged two doctors in the death of the famous Odessa businessman and investor Adnan Kivan. According to them, the doctors may be guilty of the patient's death due to negligent performance of their duties.

Information from the investigation shows that 62-year-old Kivan was receiving treatment at a private medical institution in Odessa for a cancer disease. According to law enforcement, the businessman’s death could have been avoided had the diagnosis and treatment been done correctly. However, due to the doctors' mistakes, he died from sepsis resulting from the cancer process.

Investigators have gathered enough evidence to confirm the causal link between the medical staff's insufficient attention and Kivan’s death.

Law enforcement is now planning to petition the court for the arrest of the accused doctors and their removal from office.

Adnan Kivan, a well-known businessman and owner of Kadorr Group and Kyiv Post, died under unusual circumstances at the age of 53. In the final days of his life, he faced heavy criticism due to accusations of financing militants and other controversial activities.

During the same period, restaurateur Igor Sukhomlin and American chess player Daniel Naroditsky also passed away, causing a general mood of grief among the public.
