The driver of the Nissan, a 43-year-old man, lost control of his car, crossed into oncoming traffic, and triggered the crash. One of the Nissan's passengers, a 37-year-old man, died in an ambulance while being rushed to the hospital.

According to law enforcement, the Nissan driver had a blood alcohol level of 2.13 promille. He and a 14-year-old female passenger were hospitalized. The driver has been arrested and placed in a temporary detention facility.
