Ukraine's Fuel Supply Secure for March, Holds 100,000 Ton Reserves of Gasoline and Diesel
Fuel Market Conditions in Ukraine
According to Главком: First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal has affirmed the stability of Ukraine's fuel market. He stated there are currently no supply threats for March, with deliveries for April already planned. The country imported 250,000 tons of gasoline, diesel, and liquefied gas during March, indicating a steady market situation. Ukraine's energy security remains a critical priority as the nation continues to defend itself against Russian aggression.
Ukraine's current reserves hold approximately 100,000 tons each of gasoline and diesel. For comparison, reserves as of February 1st contained 64,000 tons of gasoline and 83,000 tons of diesel. It is important to note that Ukraine imports about 75% of its fuel, making it reliant on external suppliers.
Fuel Pricing and Import Sources
As of March 13, 2026, the average price for A-95 gasoline is about 69.76 hryvnias per liter, while the average price for diesel fuel is 75.92 hryvnias per liter. Concurrently, Brent crude oil prices have surpassed the $100 per barrel mark, which may influence future developments in the fuel market.
Ukraine receives the majority of its fuel supplies from:
- Poland
- Lithuania
- Romania
- Greece
The government maintains control over the fuel market situation and continues to work on ensuring stability in this sector.
While Ukraine's fuel market shows signs of stability, significant reliance on imports and fluctuations in global oil prices could present future challenges.
Denys Shmyhal
The government remains actively engaged in securing stability, though future developments will depend on international market conditions and the country's ability to adapt to changes in the global economy.
