The number of Ukrainians leaving the country exceeds the number of those returning from abroad. Sociologist Volodymyr Paniotto stated that while families with children used to return, now mostly elderly people and singles are coming back.
"The main reason for returning remains the desire to be close to loved ones – this motivates 70% of people. Other factors include the search for housing (23%), employment (28%), and improved security (8%)", – explained Paniotto.
Experts believe that a significant part of those who left Ukraine may not return, especially those with chronically ill relatives or finding better living conditions in other countries. At the same time, Ukrainian refugees can remain in Canada, which promises not to carry out forced deportations. Despite the court ruling, Germany will also continue to restrict entry for asylum seekers.
