Hour of Remembrance at 4:00 p.m.: Millions of Ukrainians will light candles for the victims of the Holodomor

Millions of Ukrainians light candles for the victims of the Holodomor
О 16:00 кожен українець запалить свічки на вшанування пам'яті жертв Голодомору.

Today, at 4 p.m., everywhere there are Ukrainians, candles of remembrance will be lit by the windows. These millions of testaments to memory for the victims of one of history’s gravest crimes will show that Ukrainians have not forgotten the millions killed by the Holodomor and will never forgive Moscow for this genocide.

We all know how and why millions of our people were starved to death, and how millions more were never born. And once again we are defending ourselves against Russia, which has not changed and once again brings death. We must stand united in our defense just as we are united in preserving our national memory.

Eternal memory to all the victims of the Holodomor genocides. Today, at 4:00 p.m., wherever you are—in Ukraine or abroad—light a candle in your window in remembrance of all the children, women, and men who perished because of this man-made famine.

Defending Ukraine from Russia

We defended Ukraine, we defend it now, and we will always defend it. Because here is our home. And in our home, Russia will definitely not be the master.

Today, Ukrainians honor the memory of the Holodomor victims with candles of remembrance. This is an eternal reminder of the tragic event that affected millions of lives and caused unjust suffering. On this day, we collectively express memory and solidarity with those who suffered due to genocide, and we support the defense of national memory. We also uphold the spirit of the struggle for Ukraine's independence and defend its sovereignty in relations with Russia.
