Light a candle of memory at 16:00: how the Ministry of Internal Affairs digitized the Holodomor archives

Today at 16:00 we honor the memory of the victims of the Holodomors by lighting a candle of memory. Millions of Ukrainians became victims of this brutal act of genocide that took their lives.

"This was a brutal crime of the totalitarian regime against the Ukrainian nation. Today we see that the aggressor has not renounced his methods: terror, torture, and attempts to destroy our identity. Our duty is to remember the truth and speak about it," said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko on his Telegram channel.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has digitized thousands of archival documents and criminal cases from the Holodomor period, which are now available on an interactive map. This year, the department also presented the book "Holodomor 1932-1933: Genocide of the Ukrainian People. Collection of Documents and Materials," which contains unique information and oral testimonies. At the same time, the documentation of war crimes of modern Russian aggression against the civilian population continues.

Igor Klymenko emphasized that this work is a significant contribution to the restoration of historical justice. May the memory of all innocent victims of the Holodomors be eternal.
