Operation 'Phantom' in Crimea

The special unit of the GUR MO of Ukraine 'Phantoms' destroyed a Russian MiG-29 fighter and the airfield radar complex 'Irtysh' in occupied Crimea on the night of December 4. The operation took place at the 'Kacha' airfield, where the aircraft belonging to Russian military forces was hit.

Moreover, 'Phantoms' struck the airfield radar complex 'Irtysh', located near Simferopol. This was another successful step for the Ukrainian special unit in the context of the fight against Russian aggression. It is worth noting that earlier, on September 21, 2025, 'Phantoms' also destroyed two Be-12 'Chaika' amphibious anti-submarine aircraft. These actions highlight the activity of the Ukrainian military in conducting operations in temporarily occupied territories.

Importance of the Operation

This operation is significant in the context of Ukraine's efforts to counter Russian military presence in the occupied territories, particularly in Crimea. The destruction of the enemy's military equipment can significantly weaken its capabilities in the region. Such actions by special units indicate increased readiness and activity of Ukrainian forces in conducting targeted operations against the enemy.
