Legislation on the use of military uniforms in Ukraine

In Ukraine, illegal use of military uniform is punishable by fines and confiscation. The law defines the range of persons entitled to wear military uniform. According to the new regulations, the fine for the first violation is set at 2550-3400 hryvnias. If the violation is repeated within a year, the fine increases to 6800 hryvnias. Alternatively, the guilty party may be assigned compulsory work lasting 30-40 hours.

Law enforcement officers have the right to check documents of citizens wearing military uniforms. Restrictions on the use of military uniform were introduced in 2019. The police state that in the case of a repeated violation within a year, the fine increases to 6800 hryvnias, and the alternative may be community service lasting 30-40 hours.
