A missile struck a high-rise building in the Darnytskyi district, resulting in numerous casualties. In total, 48 people were wounded, including three children.

Maryna Homeniuk, an English tutor, lived with Yurii Orlov, a former hockey player. Orlov, aged 30, played for the Kryzhynka-Kompanion and Generalz clubs, and participated in 66 matches in the Ukrainian Championship during the 2015–2017 seasons, scoring seven goals and providing five assists. The tragedy was announced on the official Instagram page of the international learning center network Helen Doron English, while Orlov's death was confirmed by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Youth and Sports.
