Ukrainian Combat Dataset on the Frontline
Штучний інтелект на передовій: як унікальний набір даних із 50,000 трансляцій трансформує хід бойових дій

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yurii Myronenko presented achievements and plans for the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in defense during the Defense Tech Valley 2025 summit in Lviv.

According to Yurii Myronenko, Ukraine is already using a unique combat dataset for training AI in the defense sector.

Wing-type drones at the frontline provide over 50,000 streams monthly, allowing for accurate identification of enemy equipment and positions. This has become possible thanks to the use of AI and a unique dataset that is constantly updated with thousands of videos. Discussions are underway to grant access to this dataset to foreign companies for training their models. AI is also used for visual data analysis, working with radars, artillery, sound signals, intelligence information, and historical data.

Plans for the Future

There are plans to enhance the autonomy of UAVs, increase their range, and scale this process. A regulatory framework is being developed to simplify the admission of AI developments from manufacturers to the battlefield for testing.

The report on the development of artificial intelligence technologies in Ukraine's defense sector highlights achievements and future plans for using AI to improve the effectiveness of military operations and the security of the country.
