Legal Decision on Louetta's Custody

According to РБК-Україна — Lite: A court has ruled that three-year-old Louetta will reside primarily with her mother, Rumer Willis. The judge also set a visitation schedule for father Derek Thomas and ordered both parents to attend counseling sessions. This outcome stems from a dispute between the former partners that began after their separation.

Under the court order, Louetta's main home will be with Rumer, though both parents will jointly make decisions regarding the child's health, education, and upbringing. The court additionally mandated that the ex-couple participate in co-parenting consultations and meet with social workers. The goal of this ruling is to create a stable, supportive environment for the child.

Visitation Schedule and Parental Obligations

Derek Thomas is permitted to pick up Louetta every other weekend for overnight stays, with visits running from Saturday morning through Sunday evening. For the first two months, a nanny will accompany the girl during these visits. The parents also agreed not to post photos of the child nude or partially nude on social media-an issue that became a flashpoint in their conflict.

The friction between Rumer Willis and Derek Thomas arose from disagreements over how much of the child's life should be shared publicly online. Derek objected to Louetta appearing in promotional posts. Unable to reach a private agreement on parenting time and responsibilities, the former couple turned to the courts to resolve the matter.

A representative for Derek Thomas stated that 'the court's decision allows him to maintain a close bond with his daughter and take an active role in her life.'

This case underscores the challenges of shared parenting and the need to prioritize a child's stability amid parental conflict. The ruling also shows how the legal system can step into personal relationships to safeguard a child's well-being, establishing clear rules and boundaries for both parents. Maintaining a strong connection with the child, even under difficult circumstances, is a crucial step toward ensuring her emotional and psychological health.
