Clashes Erupt Near National Guard Unit 3121 in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka

According to ХВИЛЯ: On November 2, confrontations broke out near the temporary stationing point of National Guard Unit 3121, part of the 1st Azov Corps, in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, Kyiv region. Four detainees were injured during the incidents and required hospitalization. Major General Oleksandr Pivnenko, Commander of the National Guard, arrived at the scene and escorted the soldiers’ family members into the facility. He noted that approximately 18 servicemen were inside the building, though medical personnel estimated around 25 individuals were present.

Security Measures and Ongoing Investigation

For security reasons, the soldiers had limited access to their mobile phones, which are confiscated to prevent revealing unit locations to the enemy via missile strikes.

“This is to avoid missile attacks here. The Russians always exploit any active phone signals,”

Pivnenko explained. He also highlighted the scale of the armed forces, stating,

“About 80% of our servicemen do not have fixed permanent addresses because the army has grown from 200,000 before the war to one million now.”

The military leadership, together with law enforcement, has taken control of the investigation into potential unlawful violent acts.

“The official inquiry is underway. Each commander and medical staff present will be interviewed,”

Major General Pivnenko said. He added that for safety reasons, the soldiers will soon be relocated from the current building, which cannot adequately accommodate 200-300 personnel simultaneously without making the location vulnerable.

National Guard spokesperson Ruslan Muzychuk clarified that the Khartiya unit was not involved in the clashes and described reports of severe injuries as inconsistent. The servicemen continue to carry out their duties, maintaining security in the area.

This incident in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka highlights the challenges faced by Ukrainian forces amid ongoing conflict. Restricting phone access is a critical security measure but can lead to misunderstandings among families. The investigation aims to clarify the circumstances and ensure servicemen’s rights are upheld during such tense situations.

As the investigation into the recent clashes continues, Major General Oleksandr Pivnenko has confirmed that the soldiers were indeed inside the building during the incidents, with no fatalities reported. This development raises questions about the circumstances surrounding the events in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka.
