Russia's attack on energy facilities in Ukraine
According to glavcom.ua: Ukrainian Prime Minister Julia Svyrydenko reported that on December 23, the most hits from Russian attacks were received by energy facilities in the western regions. This was reported by the publication 'Glavcom' citing Svyrydenko's statement.
“Immediately after the night shelling, we connected all services to eliminate the consequences of today's attack. The enemy used over 600 drones and dozens of missiles. As a result of the attack, the energy facilities in the western regions of Ukraine suffered the worst,” noted Svyrydenko.
Currently, emergency power disconnection plans are being introduced across the entire country due to the enemy's actions.
Reactions of the president and new attacks
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky responded to the mass Russian shelling that led to the destruction of energy and civilian infrastructure throughout the country. Russia used over 650 drones and dozens of missiles.
On the night of December 23, mass Russian attacks took place in various parts of Ukraine, including Sumy region, Rivne region, Zhytomyr region, Kyiv and the surrounding area, Southern Odesa region and Kyiv region. The attacks led to the destruction of buildings and injuries among the civilian population.
As a result of the massive attacks by Russia on energy facilities in Ukraine, serious damage and a large number of casualties have been recorded. The president and the prime minister have announced the introduction of emergency power disconnection plans across the entire country to prevent further consequences of aggression.
