According to glavcom.ua: Maria Martynova from Russia admits that it is hard for her to accept the defeat by the Ukrainian fencing team. She says she tried to show her best result, but nerves hindered her in achieving success. The Ukrainian team today defeated the Russian fencers at the World Fencing Championship in Tbilisi.

The Ukrainian team consisted of Alina Polozyuk, Olga Sopyt, Kristina Petrova, and Daria Mironyuk. Our girls started the competition with a crushing victory over Kazakhstan and a win against the Russian fencers.
