The White House plans a trilateral meeting between the presidents of the USA, Russia, and Ukraine

According to hvylya.net: The Trump administration is considering organizing a meeting between the presidents of the USA, Russia, and Ukraine in the capital of Hungary, Budapest, as the next step in negotiations to end the war. According to Politico, the U.S. Secret Service is preparing for the summit in the Central European country led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who has close ties to Donald Trump.

The White House press secretary stated: 'I will neither confirm nor deny the location.'

The choice of Budapest is a priority but may change. At the same time, Russian President Putin advocates for the meeting to take place in Moscow, while the French president believes Geneva is an ideal location. Finally, the Swiss foreign minister speaks about possible negotiations involving Putin.

The symbolism of the location choice

Many experts believe that the choice of Budapest may not be beneficial for Ukraine due to the Budapest Memorandum of 1994. The agreement did not stop Russia's aggression against Ukraine in 2014, so the outcomes of the upcoming meeting remain unpredictable.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz believes that talks between Putin and Zelensky may take place within a few weeks.

Trump also plans to join the meeting as a concluding step in the peace process, which has gained momentum after his negotiations with Putin.

A trilateral meeting between the presidents of the USA, Russia, and Ukraine is planned in Budapest regarding reconciliation and ending the conflict. The choice of meeting location raises some concerns among experts due to past events and agreements, but hopes for positive outcomes still exist.
