Support for the Family
The family also has two other children-an adult daughter and a minor son-who are currently being cared for by social services. As noted by Stanislav Bumbu, deputy director of the Kherson Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital:
Yesterday, after the shelling in the Shumensky district, two children were brought to the regional hospital. A resuscitation and surgical team from the children’s hospital was dispatched, and later evacuated one child to Mykolaiv. There, she underwent surgery to remove shrapnel from her head.
Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, urged families still living in dangerous communities to evacuate: 'Do not put yourself and your loved ones at deadly risk.' This tragedy underscores the constant danger civilians face in conflict zones.
The incident highlights the severe humanitarian toll of the armed conflict in Ukraine, particularly the direct threats to civilians and children. Local authorities continue to call for evacuations as communities remain under relentless shelling. In these conditions, ensuring safety and providing urgent medical care to the wounded remains a top priority for regional healthcare facilities.
