Three people in Bila Tserkva were poisoned by carbon monoxide: among the victims is a child

According to Главком: On December 31, in Bila Tserkva, three people, including a four-year-old daughter, were hospitalized due to carbon monoxide poisoning. The incident occurred because of a malfunction of the gas equipment, specifically, the absence of a ventilation channel and a malfunction of the gas column. The police were notified around 07:00.

As a result of the poisoning, the mother and child were urgently hospitalized. The girl is currently in the intensive care unit, but her life is not in danger. Additionally, it is worth noting that the gas supply in the house where the tragedy occurred has been shut off.

Seriousness of the gas equipment safety problem

This incident occurred against the backdrop of other tragic situations related to carbon monoxide poisoning. Recently, a 29-year-old couple died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Irpin, and a 56-year-old man also died in Brovary from a similar cause. These cases highlight the seriousness of the gas equipment safety problem and the importance of proper ventilation system maintenance in residential premises.

  • Carbon monoxide poisoning remains a serious threat to public health, especially during the winter period.
  • The necessity for regular inspections and maintenance of gas systems.
  • The importance of informing the public about safety rules.

The authorities must take measures to raise awareness of the risks associated with the use of gas equipment to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
