Turkey Issues Stark Warning to US Over Plans to Arm Kurds Against Iran

Turkey vs USA confrontation
Туреччина висловила рішучий протест США з приводу намірів постачати зброю курдським силам у протистоянні з Іраном.

Turkey's Opposition to US Strategy

According to ХВИЛЯ: Analyst Tigran Avakyan, speaking on political commentator Yuriy Romanenko's broadcast, revealed Turkey's firm opposition to US plans to utilize Kurdish forces in a potential conflict with Iran. Turkey has issued a severe ultimatum, explicitly ruling out any use of Kurdish militias. Avakyan stressed that arming the region's 45 million Kurds could pose a grave threat to Turkey's territorial integrity. He went so far as to warn that Turkey itself might not survive if the situation escalates without a change in course. This reflects Turkey's long-standing view of Kurdish militancy as an existential threat to its national security.

Turkey's Economic Pressures

Avakyan also highlighted Turkey's acute financial difficulties. He reported that Qatar has ceased its financial support for Turkey due to global economic pressures, forcing the country to sell approximately 18-19% of its gold reserves.

"There is no money; Turkey is selling its gold," stated analyst Tigran Avakyan.

Facing this complex crisis, Avakyan pointed to the absence of a clear plan for Turkey's next steps.

"How can you start an operation without a plan?" he asked, emphasizing that such an approach would not succeed against a power like Iran.

Consequently, the situation surrounding Turkey and its foreign policy is causing significant concern. Its confrontation with Washington, combined with potential internal threats, risks destabilizing the entire region. Amid a financial crunch and a lack of coherent strategy, Turkey's future appears increasingly uncertain, with potentially far-reaching consequences for the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East.

As tensions escalate, understanding the implications of Trump's strategy to engage Kurdish forces against Iran becomes crucial. This approach not only risks a direct clash with Turkey but also complicates the already volatile dynamics in the region, raising questions about the potential fallout for U.S.-Turkey relations.
