Turkey has adopted its first climate law in history
According to glavcom.ua: Ukrainian journalists report that Turkey has passed its first law on climate change! The country aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2053 and fulfill its commitments under the Paris Agreement. Key areas of Turkey's energy policy include the use of renewable energy sources and green technologies.
It is also reported that the European Commission is planning changes to the EU Climate Law, setting a new target for 2040. In response to this step, Turkey is taking its measures to combat climate change and reduce its environmental impact.
The draft law proposes the development of local action plans to combat climate change, strategies for water resource management, and increasing forest areas. It also plans to stimulate the use of secondary raw materials to minimize environmental pollution by businesses.
Recently, Ukraine has also felt the consequences of climate change, which are manifesting in shorter winters, rising temperatures, and an increased risk of dust storms and heat strokes, especially in cities. These news show that the issue of climate change is becoming increasingly evident and requires joint efforts to address it.
