According to glavcom.ua: In Denmark, President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded 11-year-old volunteer Jens Fog Thomsen the 'Future of Ukraine' award for helping Ukrainian children. This news is reported by 'Glavkom' citing the President's Office.

«I am very grateful to you from all our people, first of all from Ukrainian children. You know they are currently under Russian attacks and trying to survive. They love Ukraine and have friends like you. You are a great friend of Ukraine. Thank you for the backpacks, for collecting money to help Ukrainian children. All our children are proud to have friends like you from Denmark. We will be happy to see you in Ukraine with your parents», – said the head of state.

Jens Fog Thomsen started helping Ukraine last year when he learned about Ukrainian children who lost their homes due to Russian aggression. He then began making Easter decorations - blue and yellow chicks made of beads. Through sales, the boy raised more than 34,000 Danish kroner. With this money, he bought school backpacks and supplies for Ukrainian children affected by the war.

The President's award 'Future of Ukraine' is a new award that Zelensky established by decree on May 29 of this year. The award was given out quickly: the next day saw the first decree issued awarding 24 children. This can be confidently called a historical event, as Jens Fog Thomsen became the first foreigner to receive this award from the President of Ukraine.

The meeting with the children during which the award was presented took place in conditions of air shelter due to alerts; however, the ceremony itself was filled with positivity and gratitude. Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the award 'Future of Ukraine' will become a tradition, as there are many worthy and strong people in Ukraine who deserve recognition and support.
