The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office announced the development. The child's body was discovered around 10:00 AM on May 28, 2026, inside an abandoned building, showing clear signs of a violent death. His hands were bound, and he had sustained physical injuries. The boy had been reported missing since the evening of May 26.

According to the prosecutor's office, the suspect sexually assaulted the minor before strangling him. The detained individual admitted that the crime took place around 12:30 PM on May 27. Investigators have preliminarily determined that the suspect was acquainted with the victim. Authorities are now preparing to charge him with premeditated murder of a minor, as stipulated under Article 115, Part 2, Clause 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
