Exhibition on the Ukrainian Stretch of Camino de Santiago Opens in Kamianets-Podilskyi

Exhibition Project 'Camino de Santiago - Camino Podolico'

According to Міністерство Туризму: Kamianets-Podilskyi is now playing host to the travelling display "Camino de Santiago - Camino Podolico: Paths That Unite." The show focuses on Camino de Santiago, one of the world's most celebrated pilgrimage networks, and gives special attention to Camino Podolico, the Ukrainian leg that has been officially part of the route since 2023. After its earlier run in Vinnytsia, the exhibition has now reached Kamianets-Podilskyi. For locals, this is a chance to see how Ukraine connects into a broader European tradition of pilgrimage and heritage tourism.

Organizers and Purpose of the Exhibition

The exhibition was organized by:

• Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council
• Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Ukraine
• Department of City Marketing and Tourism of Vinnytsia City Council

On view are photographs of landmarks from the Spanish route in Galicia, leading to the Cathedral of Saint James in Santiago de Compostela, as well as pictures of the easternmost arm of the pilgrimage paths across Podillia.

Oleksandr Vesheleni, Head of the Tourism Development and Digitalisation Department at the State Agency for Tourism Development, joined the opening and took part in a panel discussion. The event aims to promote pilgrimage as a means of cultural exchange and stronger international ties. It also demonstrates that these routes are about more than beautiful architecture - they are a reminder of the importance of safeguarding cultural heritage.

The launch of the exhibition marks a milestone in advancing Ukraine's tourism potential, since wider interest in pilgrimage can support travel both inside the country and from abroad. Cooperation between Ukrainian and Spanish institutions underscores the value of cultural exchange and historical preservation, which may in turn attract more visitors to both nations.
