Kyiv resident sold apartment of deceased friend to his wife: details of the fraud

In Kyiv, a man became a witness to the suspicious turnover of his deceased friend's apartment. According to information from the Dniprovsk District Prosecutor's Office, he was charged with fraud.

Details of the case

It turned out that the man tried to convince the heir that he could help register the inheritance, although he had no ownership of it. After the death of the apartment owner, using fake documents, the man entered into a sales agreement for the alleged inheritance.

Fraudulent scheme

The described sale turned out to be fictional, as the money for the property was not transferred, but the agreement was considered concluded in documentation. Noting that he found the body of the deceased himself, the suspect proves his incorruptibility.

“I personally found the body of the deceased in the apartment and reported it to the police,” the suspect stated.

Due to the signs of fraud, a criminal case has been opened against him under the Criminal Code. Currently, the police and prosecutor's office of Kyiv are conducting further investigation.
