In Kyiv, a recidivist sentenced: 9 years in prison for 660 grams of psychotropic substances

A man in Kyiv was sentenced to 9 years in prison for illegal acquisition and storage of psychotropic substances with the intent to sell. It was proved that he attempted to sell the psychotropic substance in particularly large quantities.

Punishment

With the help of the prosecutors of the Podil District Prosecutor's Office, the man was found guilty under Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court decided to sentence him to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Case Details

The accused was arrested with 660 g of psychotropic substances in a backpack at the Vidubichi metro station. This is not the first case of law violation for this man, who was previously sentenced to 5 years and 5 months for a similar crime.

The preliminary investigation was conducted by the investigators of the Department of Police in the Kyiv Metro of the National Police of Ukraine. The press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reported on this court decision.

As a result of violating the law on illegal acquisition and storage of psychotropic substances, the man received a lengthy sentence and lost his confiscated property. His previous encounter with the law did not deter him from committing the crime again. Authorities warn against the inadmissibility of violating the law and will strive to maintain strict penalties for offenders.
