According to Главком: On January 12, 2026, a ninth-grade student attacked a teacher and classmate with a knife in Kyiv. The attacker, a 14-year-old student, deliberately came to school wearing a balaclava, helmet, and carrying two knives. As a result of the attack, the teacher and classmate suffered knife wounds and are currently in hospital in serious condition.
The attacker’s actions have already been classified as attempted murder under Part 2 of Article 15 and paragraph 1 of Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At present, the attacker is under medical supervision and in custody. According to Anton Efimov, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, the 14-year-old resident of Kyiv region has been informed of the suspicion of attempting to kill two people.
