In Kyiv, parents can now transfer their children between educational institutions online
Parents of schoolchildren in Kyiv can now transfer their child to another communal school without visiting the educational institution personally in person. A new electronic service has been launched on the Kyiv Services Portal that allows applications to be submitted and their processing to be tracked entirely online. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration .
Online Transfers Between Schools: What Has Changed for Parents
The new service allows for the remote processing of a student transfer to another general secondary education institution. To do this, one needs to log in to their personal account on the Kyiv Services Portal, select the appropriate service, fill out the electronic application and monitor its processing status.
This service is available only for communal schools in the capital that have opened enrollment for student transfers. This significantly reduces the amount of paperwork and eliminates the need for parents to visit educational institutions multiple times.
As noted by the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Valentina Mondryivskyi, the digitalization of educational services has become one of the city's priorities, as modern services save time and simplify interactions between families and schools.
Transferring a Child to School: What Opportunities Are Available
When submitting an application, parents can choose not only the new educational institution but also the class type and form of education if they are available.
Options include:
- full-time and mixed classes;
- remote and special classes;
- daytime, remote, evening, part-time, network forms of education, and externship;
- remote learning with a component of Ukrainian studies.
After submitting the application, the new school checks for available spots. If the child is accepted, the previous institution processes the withdrawal, and the necessary documents are sent to the new place of education.
Digital Educational Services Are Gaining Popularity
The Kyiv City State Administration mentions that the demand for electronic educational services continues to grow. During the 2025-2026 school years, parents submitted over 2970 applications for their children to enter first grades through the Kyiv Services Portal.
Only after the document acceptance began on April 1, 2026, over 1700 online applications were processed. The city authorities emphasize that they will continue to expand the list of digital services to make interactions with educational institutions as simple and convenient as possible.
Let us remind you that in Kyiv, partial traffic restrictions on one of the key transport arteries in the Pechersk district were implemented for almost a month.
