Starting October 1, Kyiv Launches a Medical Information Service to Guide Residents Through Healthcare Options
Introduction of Kyiv’s New Medical Information Service
According to Рубрика — Суспільство: Beginning October 1, 2026, Kyiv will unveil a dedicated Medical Information Service aimed at helping residents navigate the city’s healthcare system. This service will provide up-to-date details about municipal medical facilities, available healthcare services, and guidance on accessing medical care. Operating under the Kyiv City Information and Analytical Center for Medical Statistics, this initiative is part of the city’s targeted program "Support and Development of the Capital’s Healthcare Sector" for 2024–2027.
Operating Hours and Contact Details
The Medical Information Service will be available Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Residents can reach the service by calling (044) 451-0-451. Calls from Kyiv landlines will be free of charge, while mobile calls will incur standard operator rates. The service offers information on:
- the operations of public healthcare institutions;
- free medical services;
- the options available under the Medical Guarantees Program.
It is important to note that the service does not provide medical advice or schedule appointments with doctors.
Staff at the Medical Information Service will have real-time access to updated data about healthcare facilities, including contact information, service availability, department changes, and equipment maintenance. This information will also support the city’s healthcare chatbot. Additionally, the service will collect feedback, including suggestions, compliments, and complaints related to healthcare institutions-covering issues like service organization, appointment accessibility, staff communication, and any reports of improper fee requests.
Tetyana Mostepan emphasized that city officials prioritize not only enhancing medical services but also consistently listening to those who use them.
She highlighted that Kyiv’s Medical Information Service is intended to serve as a clear and reliable point of contact between residents and the city’s healthcare system. It will offer expert guidance on where to go, which facilities provide necessary services, and what steps to follow next. This approach will help city officials identify common challenges faced by patients, enabling improvements in care pathways and informed management decisions.
Lyudmyla Holubenko stressed the importance of attentive listening for every caller. She noted that sometimes individuals need straightforward answers, other times help in figuring out where to seek care, and occasionally, simply to be heard. The service’s target audience includes patients, healthcare professionals, healthcare facility managers, and pharmacy staff.
The launch of Kyiv’s Medical Information Service represents a significant move toward improving access to healthcare for the capital’s residents. Functioning within the framework of the city’s strategic program, the service aims not only to inform but also to gather valuable feedback, allowing municipal authorities to adapt and enhance the healthcare system. Keeping medical facility information current will foster more efficient use of healthcare resources and strengthen the connection between patients and healthcare providers.
As the city enhances its healthcare services, it is essential to stay informed about the latest operational guidelines affecting public safety. For instance, Kyiv has recently implemented new city operations guidelines in response to air threats, which may impact residents' access to healthcare and other essential services. Understanding these changes will help citizens navigate the evolving landscape of city services effectively.
