According to Прокуратура Київ: An arrest took place in Kyiv of a man who promised to help someone find a job in law enforcement for $25,000.
Law enforcement officials reported that the 41-year-old man was charged with abuse of influence, as he claimed he would use his connections and acquaintances to expedite the employment process for the Kyiv resident.
Scheme of actions for a reward
The man assured that it is very difficult to get a job in the law enforcement system without his intervention due to enormous competition and high requirements for candidates. He requested $25,000 for his services, which had to be paid in installments: $15,000 before the check and $10,000 after employment.
After receiving the first part of the agreed sum, the man was arrested according to procedure. He has been placed under preventive detention, and to secure his release, a bail of 605,000 hryvnias must be paid.
As a result of the law enforcement actions, the illegal scheme of promises for expedited employment for a reward was disrupted.
