Kyiv Bust: Suspect Apprehended for Selling Narcotics via Parcel Lockers

According to Прокуратура Київ: In Kyiv, authorities detained a 26-year-old man accused of trafficking drugs and psychotropic substances through automated parcel terminals. Law enforcement seized 6 kg of banned materials, estimated to be worth 6 million Ukrainian hryvnias. The case was overseen by the Obolon District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv. This operation highlights how criminals are increasingly using modern delivery systems to distribute illegal goods.

The arrest took place near a parcel locker, where the suspect was expected to retrieve a package containing 250 grams of the psychotropic substance Alpha-PVP, already portioned for customers. A subsequent search also uncovered ziplock bags holding 250 grams of cannabis. During a raid on the suspect's apartment, officers discovered and confiscated the following items:

• bags of cannabis;
• psychotropic substances including Mephedrone and MDMA;
• packets of psilocybin mushrooms;
• containers of steroid medications that require a prescription for sale.

In total, 6 kg of prohibited substances were recovered and have been sent for forensic analysis.

The suspect has been placed in pretrial detention without the possibility of bail. Additionally, a Range Rover vehicle used by the detained individual was seized. His actions have been classified under Article 307, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which addresses the illegal acquisition and storage of psychotropic substances for sale in especially large quantities.
