The world's first robot graduate student enrolled in a theatrical academy: what awaits him
Sueba 01, which became the first humanoid robot in China, has been given the chance to enroll in the Shanghai Theatre Academy. This has become a real sensation on social media. The robot was created through a joint effort of the Shanghai University of Science and Technology and DroidUp Robotics. Now he will study for four years majoring in 'Drama and Film' with a focus on traditional Chinese opera. His academic supervisor has become the renowned artist and professor Yang Qingqing.
Now the robot plans to attend classes, rehearsals of opera performances, study the art of acting, scripts, and other subjects. His admission has sparked a lot of discussions online, but he humorously reacted to criticism, calling himself an 'AI artist' and hoping to find new friends among the students.
Comments and Results
The robot's acceptance into the graduate program has sparked debates in the public, however, it also opens new opportunities for the development of artificial intelligence in the fields of art and culture. This step may indicate a gradual spread of automation in unusual areas and provoke discussions from the perspectives of morality and ethics of using robotics in fields where they were previously unavailable.
