In Lviv, there are 60 vacancies for public transport drivers: what salaries are being offered
Lviv's municipal carriers are short of more than 60 drivers, as well as mechanics and technical staff. Part of the shortage is attributed to mobilization, which has significantly affected both public and private enterprises. This was reported to the publication “Your City” by the head of the Transport Department of the Lviv City Council, Oleg Partika.
Who the city is looking for
The staff shortage in Lviv remains palpable, which is why the city continues to actively attract new employees. In particular, a pilot project called She Drives is in place, within which five female drivers are already working on routes No. 10 and No. 60, and another one is undergoing training. The Lviv City Council emphasizes that they are ready to expand the program and improve working conditions after the first positive results.
The training of drivers takes a long time, so it is impossible to quickly fill the vacancies. At the same time, the city offers competitive pay and social guarantees to attract more drivers and technical specialists.
According to Partika, currently in Lviv, public transport drivers receive:
-
from 35,000 to 45,000 hryvnias - depending on the route and work schedule
The city is currently recruiting staff for the winter season. In particular, Lviv's communal enterprises are looking for 49 driver-tractor operators for snow removal, sand distribution, and street maintenance. Currently, city mobility is focused on three key objectives: ensuring uninterrupted operation of routes, strengthening the staffing structure, and modernizing the transport system.
The staffing shortage caused by mobilization remains one of the biggest problems, but the city plans to continue working on overcoming it.
