Lviv checked 180 buses with air conditioners: what conclusions were drawn
In Lviv, inspections of air conditioners in public transport continue due to the hot weather. Since the start of enhanced control, inspectors have already examined 437 buses and trolleybuses, identified dozens of violations, and imposed fines on private carriers. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
Air conditioners in Lviv transport: how many violations were found
The latest inspection took place on July 6. Inspectors examined another 20 units of public transport, and this time no violations in the operation of air conditioners were recorded.
Overall, from June 19 to July 6, the control covered 437 vehicles. During this period, specialists identified 41 cases of improper functioning of the air conditioning systems.
Of these:

38 violations were recorded in buses;

3 - in trolleybuses.
As a result of the inspections, private transport carriers were fined 38 times.
Public transport in Lviv: how many buses have air conditioners
The city council notes that monitoring of transport operations continues throughout the year; however, special attention is paid to cooling systems during the summer period.
According to Oleg Partika, head of the transport department, over 80% of buses equipped with air conditioners have already been checked.
At the same time, air conditioners are not installed on all public transport. Out of approximately 500 buses that operate daily on Lviv routes, only about 180 are equipped with cooling systems.
In the area of electric transport, the situation is somewhat better. Out of 134 trams and trolleybuses that run daily on routes, more than 60 units have air conditioners.
Regarding the municipal enterprise 'Lviv Electric Transport', the city council explained that the current contract does not provide for imposing fines on the enterprise. At the same time, for identified violations, the depot and enterprise managers bear personal responsibility.
It should be noted that in Lviv on July 1, on Shevchenko Street, around 11:30 PM, an unknown person fired nine shots into the air with a shotgun.
