Arrest Made in Lviv After Knife Attack on Military Recruitment Officer

According to Главком: A 29-year-old local man has been detained in Lviv for allegedly stabbing a soldier from a Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) on May 29. The attack occurred around 12:10 PM on Khvylovoho Street. Medical personnel diagnosed the wounded serviceman with a lacerated shoulder wound.

Police identified and apprehended the suspect under Article 208 of Ukraine's Criminal Procedure Code. Investigators from Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Administration are handling the case, with procedural oversight provided by the Halytska District Prosecutor's Office.

Legal Consequences

The suspect has been charged under Part 2 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which penalizes threats or violence against an official or a citizen performing a public duty. If convicted, he faces a sentence of three to five years in prison or restriction of liberty for the same term. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

A separate incident occurred earlier in Lviv when a group attacked a TCC vehicle while a mobile notification team was operating near Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street.

“Through investigative measures, police identified and located the perpetrator-a 29-year-old Lviv resident-and detained him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine,” stated the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Oblast.
