According to Главком: Delegates at the national ski congress in Oslo have chosen 53-year-old Roger Finjord as the next president of the Norwegian Ski Federation. He succeeds Tove Mo Dyrhaug, who had led the organization since 2022. Finjord’s term is set to run at least until the summer of 2030.
Background and Vision of the Incoming President
A native of Finnmark county, Finjord previously served as head coach of Norway’s women’s national football team. Before his election, he held the role of executive director for the Finnmark football district. He has also worked as deputy board chair and led the ski racing committee in his home regional district.
Notably, Finjord’s father built a lighted ski trail in the village of Eksfjord, underscoring his deep roots in the sport. The new federation president has pledged to uphold Norway’s ski traditions, with a particular focus on boosting youth interest in ski racing.
