Explosions were heard in the port of Novorossiysk in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation, as drones from the Security Service of Ukraine's special operations center "Alpha", together with other units of the Defense Forces, struck military and oil facilities involved in the war against Ukraine. This was reported by UNIAN, citing sources in the security service.

Preliminary data indicates that military ships, elements of air defense, and oil infrastructure were hit. A large fire has been recorded in the port.

Damage in Novorossiysk: What Facilities Were Destroyed

According to an informant, drones struck:

  • military ships
  • the 30N6E2 radar guidance of the S-300 PMU-2 "Favorit" complex
  • the Pantsir-S2 air defense missile-gun system
  • six out of seven oil-loading stands at the "Sheshkaris" terminal.

This terminal is one of the key oil-loading complexes in southern Russia and supplies fuel to Russian military groups.

Consequences of the Attack: Confirmation from the General Staff

Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces confirmed the strike on the "Sheshkaris" oil terminal and the "Novorossiysk" naval base. There are also reports of damage to the radar station of the S-400 complex.

Additionally, preliminary reports indicate the destruction of four RVS-5000 tanks, damage to three RVS-2000 tanks, pipelines, and an underground reservoir at the "Albashneft" oil refinery in the Krasnodar Krai.

The Security Service of Ukraine stated that such operations are aimed at weakening Russia's military and logistical capabilities. "Each such special operation directly affects the ability of the Russians to conduct military actions and receive oil dollar revenues to the budget," the source reported.

It should be noted that the Saudi Arabian oil company Saudi Aramco halted operations at its largest refinery in Ras Tanura following an attack by an Iranian drone that occurred early on the morning of March 2.
