In Poland, foreign taxi drivers will be required to obtain a new document for their license
In Poland, new requirements for foreigners working in the taxi sector are being prepared. The government plans to tighten the rules for obtaining passenger transport licenses and introduce additional documents for drivers from countries outside the European Union. This was stated by Polish Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Kłysz, reports InPoland.
What certificate will be required from foreign taxi drivers in Poland
One of the main changes will be a mandatory certificate of no criminal record from the driver's country of origin.
Currently, to obtain a license, taxi drivers need only provide proof of no criminal record from Polish registries. After the changes, drivers from countries outside the EU will have to additionally confirm their reputation with documents from their homeland.
According to Kłysz, the government also plans to clarify the general conditions for obtaining passenger transport licenses.
What new requirements for taxi drivers in Poland are also being discussed
The minister reported that the authorities are analyzing the existing rules for holders of driver's licenses from different countries around the world.
Currently, Poland has various requirements for drivers from EU countries, states parties to the Vienna and Geneva Conventions, as well as countries that are not party to these international agreements.
In Kłysz's opinion, the system needs to be simplified and made more understandable for all market participants.

Separately, the government is considering the possibility of introducing an additional assessment of Polish language knowledge for foreign taxi drivers.
Moreover, a minimum requirement may be completing a course at the Center for Advanced Driving Techniques.
According to the minister, these changes are intended to enhance passenger safety and regulate the rules for foreign drivers in the Polish taxi market.
It is worth noting that in Poland, 441 foreign doctors lost their right to work.
