Over 887 Kilometers of Drone-Proof Road Barriers Deployed in Ukraine's Frontline Regions

Anti-drone protection in Frontline regions
В Україні створено понад 887 кілометрів бар'єрів для захисту від дронів у зонах конфлікту.

Protecting Supply Routes in Conflict-Affected Areas

According to Главком: The State Special Transport Service is ramping up defenses for logistical corridors in regions near the front lines. In Kherson Oblast, more than 207 kilometers of anti-drone shielding have been installed along strategically vital routes. Following the liberation of the right-bank portion of Kherson Oblast, 13 bridge crossings-critical for both military defense and civilian survival-have been restored.

Construction of protective structures continues at key energy infrastructure sites, with two facilities already completed. Over 600 kilometers of drone-safe corridors are being deployed across roads in:

  • Donetsk Oblast
  • Kherson Oblast
  • Kharkiv Oblast
  • Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
  • Sumy Oblast

Since the start of 2026, more than 887 kilometers of anti-drone defenses have been established in frontline regions.

Infrastructure Recovery and Accelerated Work Pace

During May and June, over 198 kilometers of roads were restored in areas adjacent to the combat zone. The pace of work has doubled from 4 kilometers to 9.2 kilometers per day compared to 2025. The Ministry of Defense reports:

“By boosting the capabilities of the State Special Transport Service, we have managed to more than double the speed of operations.”

It further notes that “special attention is being given to the most challenging routes and the most vulnerable road sections between communities in Kherson Oblast.” Since the beginning of May 2026, over 211 kilometers of anti-drone protection have already been installed on frontline roads.

These enhanced security measures and infrastructure repairs are crucial steps toward maintaining stability and safety in frontline areas. Amid ongoing tensions along the front line, this capacity expansion not only shields supply lines but also sustains daily life for local populations. Successful execution of these projects could significantly shape the broader situation in the country, providing essential support to both military and civilian operations.

As efforts to enhance logistical safety continue, it's important to note that over 800 kilometers of roadways have already been fortified with anti-drone systems across Ukraine. This initiative not only complements the ongoing deployment of drone-proof barriers but also underscores the urgent need to protect vital transport routes in conflict zones.
