Cafe in Istanbul fined for lemon
Керівнику кав’ярні в Стамбулі наклали штраф за подачу лимона до чаю вартістю 900 доларів.

According to glavcom.ua: At a popular cafe in Istanbul, the owner was fined approximately $900 for issuing a separate charge for a slice of lemon with tea. This incident sparked outrage on social media and received a response from the Turkish Ministry of Trade.

Customers of the cafe spread a photograph of the bill, which included a line item for the lemon costing $0.24. In Turkey, lemon with tea is usually served for free, so this case generated negative emotions.

After analyzing the establishment, the Ministry of Trade found 12 violations in pricing. The owner had to pay a fine of nearly $900 and present invoices from the last three months for price verification.

It should be noted that Turkey is facing a water crisis, particularly in the cities of Istanbul and Izmir. Water reserves in dams have significantly decreased in recent months, leading to serious water supply problems.
