A man who attacked a Ukrainian woman on a bus has been arrested in Warsaw: he faces trial
The details of the attack on a Ukrainian woman in Warsaw have been clarified. The police charged a 38-year-old man who assaulted the woman and a civic activist who intervened on her behalf.
What happened on city bus No. 190?
The Ukrainian woman found herself in a difficult situation in Warsaw when a passenger began to insult her and demanded that she leave Poland. Only thanks to activist Zenobia Zachek did the woman receive protection, and the activist herself became the target of aggression.
'He ran up to me and hit me in the face with his head. Blood poured from my nose,' the activist recounted.
Police actions and the arrest of the suspect
The police acted swiftly, even though the activist initially did not want to contact the authorities. The suspect has already been arrested, and he has been charged with gross violation of public order and inflicting bodily harm.
The social situation of Ukrainians in Poland
Ukrainians in Poland are facing changes in legislation regarding employment and social assistance. New rules complicate the process of receiving aid and may lead to the loss of social benefits or even restrictions on entry into the country.
