In Zaporizhzhia, a new bus route No. 48 is being launched, which will be the first in the city's history to run along the Embankment with large buses. The project is being implemented in response to residents' requests and as part of the development of public transport. This was reported by the Zaporizhzhia City Council.

Route No. 48 Zaporizhzhia: where the buses will run

The new route will connect the BK 'ZAlK' with the Cosmic microdistrict and will pass through one of the key transport arteries of the city.

The line will operate:

  • 8 large buses, some of which were received as humanitarian aid;

  • stops near 'Victory' and 'Dubovy Hay' parks;

  • stops near shopping centers and recreation areas.

The route will be serviced by KP 'Zaporizhlektrotrans', and the fare will remain free for privileged categories.

Zaporizhzhia Embankment: how the infrastructure is being arranged

For the launch of the route, new transport infrastructure is being created on the highway. A total of 9 pairs of stops are planned to be built.

Main works include:

As of now, work is ongoing at 7 of the 18 facilities. Additional traffic lights are not planned to be installed to maintain the speed regime.

The launch of the route is expected after the completion of work in early June 2026. The project is funded from the city budget with the participation of public enterprises, as well as with the support of international partners who help with transport.

The development of the public transport network in the city continues even under wartime conditions, which improves residents' mobility and reduces the burden on other types of transportation.

Let us remind you that on the night of April 22, Russian drones attacked the railway infrastructure at the Zaporizhzhia-Left station and the port infrastructure of Odesa.
