New Army+ Course Enhances Combat Control of UAV Operations

Introducing the Comprehensive Course on UAV Combat Management

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: The Army+ app now features a newly launched course titled "UAV Combat Management Organization," developed from hands-on experience of drone units in the field. This training program is composed of 5 modules and 15 detailed lessons designed to improve command efficiency and coordination between UAV crews and related military services.

This course equips participants with the skills to manage command posts effectively, coordinate drone teams, collaborate with intelligence and adjacent units, and systematically collect and assess combat performance data. It is tailored for duty officers at UAV control centers, their assistants, chiefs of staff, commanders, and all service members aiming to deepen their expertise in drone combat operations.

Course Curriculum Overview

Throughout the course, soldiers will gain knowledge in:

• setting up and running a command post including the roles of duty officers and their aides;
• operating the DELTA system, especially its Monitor and Vezha modules for information gathering and sharing;
• establishing a shared tactical map, facilitating communication, and coordinating with UAV crews and supporting units;
• conducting reconnaissance at close, medium, and long ranges;
• managing FPV teams, heavy bombers, and strike wing drones;
• addressing the unique challenges of urban combat environments;
• organizing logistical support for combat positions;
• analyzing operational data to evaluate unit effectiveness.

The course content is rooted in the practical experience of the "Legion North" UAV battalion from the 44th Separate Mechanized Brigade. Experts from the 412th Separate UAV Brigade Nemesis also contributed to the development of instructional materials. This initiative was supported by the UAV Directorate of the Ground Forces Command, with the NGO "Magura" partnering in the course production.

Available now in the "Training" section of the Army+ app, this course joins a catalog of 30 diverse training programs covering subjects such as tactical medicine, psychological preparation, military leadership, cyber hygiene, UAV operations, electronic warfare, and digital systems.

The launch of this course within Army+ highlights the Ukrainian military's ongoing commitment to advancing personnel training, especially in the face of increasing reliance on unmanned technologies on the battlefield. Effective UAV combat management is essential to meeting today’s operational challenges and securing mission success.

In addition to enhancing combat capabilities, the Army+ app also focuses on vital health training for service members. The newly introduced course on HIV, hepatitis, and tuberculosis addresses essential medical knowledge, ensuring troops are well-prepared for both operational and health challenges they may face in the field.
