Two Elderly Residents Wounded in Chernihiv Region After Russian UAV Attack

According to ДСНС: Two people were injured in Ukraine's Chernihiv region when a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) struck the area. The victims include a 67-year-old man and an 84-year-old woman, both civilians.

What Happened at the Scene

In the Chernihiv district, a drone strike ignited a trailer attached to a cargo truck. Separately, in the Novhorod-Siverskyi district, dry grass caught fire at the impact site. Emergency crews from the State Emergency Service (SES) quickly extinguished all fires.

This attack highlights the ongoing threat posed by drones in the protracted conflict in Ukraine. Civilian infrastructure and non-combatants continue to suffer, underscoring the severe toll on the local population beyond military targets.

Rescue services remain on high alert, working to mitigate the aftermath of such strikes. However, the security situation stays tense, emphasizing the urgent need for better protection of civilians.

The recent attack in the Chernihiv region is part of a troubling pattern, as evidenced by a previous strike that injured eight individuals, including three children. This escalation underscores the persistent danger faced by civilians amidst the ongoing conflict, highlighting an urgent need for enhanced protective measures for non-combatants.
