According to МЗС: Following a recent Russian strike, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held a phone conversation with Germany’s Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul. Their discussion focused on intensifying pressure against Russia and preparing for the opening of negotiation clusters related to Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

Sybiha expressed gratitude to Wadephul for condemning Russian aggression and demonstrating solidarity.

‘I thanked Johann for his condemnation and solidarity. We value Germany’s leadership in supporting Ukraine,’ Sybiha stated.

He further emphasized that ‘this attack revealed Putin’s weakness, not his strength.’ The Ukrainian minister added that ‘the appropriate response from our allies must be to increase pressure on Russia.’

Ukraine’s Preparedness for Talks

During the discussion, Sybiha underscored that Ukraine is ready to open all negotiation clusters, having fulfilled the necessary requirements.

‘I am grateful to Germany for backing our EU membership, as well as for its leadership in strengthening the defense of Ukraine and all of Europe,’ Andrii Sybiha concluded.
