Successes in International Competitions
Ukraine demonstrated good results at the European Youth Olympic Festival, finishing 10th in the overall medal tally. The Ukrainian team won 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals, which was the second most successful performance of the country at the festivals since 1993. The most successful sport for Ukraine in this context was judo, in which six medals were won.
In addition, at the World Summer Universiade held in Germany, the Ukrainian national team finished 14th. Ukrainian athletes won 12 medals at the Universiade: 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze. Among individual successes, the bronze medal of Mykola Rushiak in the 20-kilometer race walking should be noted.
It is important to note that the next Winter Olympics will take place in February 2026 in Milan, which is an important event for Ukrainian athletes in their upcoming competitions on the international stage.
