In Ukraine, 700 medical facilities have been restored: how institutions are being rebuilt after destruction
According to Міністерство Здоров'я: Ukraine continues to rebuild medical institutions that have been affected by the war with Russia. As of December 1, 2025, according to information, 2,535 facilities within 816 medical institutions have been damaged.
In particular, 327 facilities associated with 125 health institutions were completely destroyed as a result of shelling. Medical facilities in the regions of Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Zaporizhia, and Luhansk have suffered the most.
“Despite the constant threats, the restoration work continues. 700 facilities have already been repaired, and another 323 institutions have been partially restored. 59 facilities that were previously repaired have been damaged again due to minor damages or are in the zone of occupation.”
Currently, medical services are still being provided at 1,532 facilities, with 185 functioning only partially. Another 232 institutions have been evacuated, and 572 institutions are temporarily not operating. It is difficult to obtain information about destruction in temporarily occupied territories.
Overall, since the beginning of the invasion, 280 ambulances have been destroyed, 170 damaged, and 80 captured by the occupiers.
The Ministry of Health, together with partners from other countries, continues to work on restoring medical institutions so that all patients have access to necessary treatment, regardless of the situation at the front.
Ukraine is actively restoring medical institutions affected by the war with Russia, providing vital medical assistance to patients even in difficult conditions at the front.
