According to glavcom.ua: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that new helicopter groups will be formed to combat enemy drones. This news is reported by 'Glavkom' citing a statement by the Ukrainian leader.

During a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, issues of security and restoring energy infrastructure after Russian attacks were discussed. According to Zelensky, the situation at the front lines and near the border with Russia remains tense due to constant drone attacks and shelling.

Moreover, during the meeting, a decision was made to expand the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to combat drones. 'New helicopter groups will be formed. We are collaborating with partners to provide the country with a more diverse range of aircraft types. Agreements have been made with manufacturers of interceptor drones to increase production,' Zelensky stated.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, emphasized that despite a one-and-a-half-fold increase in the number of Russian attacks, Ukraine's air defense forces demonstrated effectiveness at around 74%. Syrskyi noted that the enemy has increased the number of air assaults in the last month. 'Our air defense operates at a level of about 74%, but we must do more to protect critical infrastructure and logistics,' he emphasized.

During the military leadership meeting, an important decision was made to create new helicopter groups for protection against drones. It was also mentioned that cooperation with manufacturers of interceptor drones is being strengthened. Ukraine is preparing for potential threats related to air attacks on the country's critical infrastructure.
