The head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, confirmed the start of the trilateral format. The Ukrainian team had arrived in the UAE capital the previous day, following a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the nation's negotiation group.

The process involves working in separate groups on specific thematic areas, after which a joint session is planned to synchronize positions again. Rustem Umerov stated:
