Ukraine and Belgium Create Joint Weapon Production: Details of the New Agreement
Ukraine and Belgium are exploring opportunities to deepen cooperation in the defense industry, particularly in collaboration with European Union countries. The joint production of air defense systems, drones, munitions, and the modernization of weapons in partnership with Belgian companies is planned.
Representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Hanna Hvozdiyar and Serhii Boiev, discussed the prospects of cooperation with the Belgian delegation led by the Director General for European Affairs of the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, Christophe De Neve.
“Our partnership with Belgium paves the way for deeper integration of the Ukrainian defense sector into the European industrial space. Modern challenges require solutions that shorten the time from production to delivery and application on the battlefield,” emphasized Serhii Boiev.
Anna Gvozdiar added that the main task is not only to buy ready-made weapons but also to develop joint productions and technologies. “This concerns air defense systems, drones, and munitions. It is about a strategic level of cooperation that strengthens Ukraine and enhances the security of Europe,” she emphasized.
