Meeting Between the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Honduras

According to МЗС: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met with his Honduran counterpart, Minister Mireya Agüero de Corrales, who arrived in Ukraine as part of the delegation accompanying Honduran President Nasry Asfura. During the talks, both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding to launch political consultations between the foreign ministries of Ukraine and Honduras.

The discussions covered the ongoing Russian aggression and the situation on the battlefield. Minister Sybiha stressed the need for accountability regarding Russia’s actions, stating:

“I emphasized the importance of ensuring accountability for Russian aggression and invited Honduras to join key international initiatives, particularly the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.” – Andrii Sybiha

The two sides also addressed global efforts to achieve peace and explored ways to expand bilateral cooperation in areas such as:

• agriculture
• digital transformation
• innovative technologies

“During our meeting, we acknowledged the positive momentum in bilateral relations and signed the Memorandum on launching political consultations between our foreign ministries-an important step toward more regular dialogue and deeper cooperation,” Sybiha noted.

Honduras consistently supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, maintaining a firm stance in the United Nations and other international bodies. Sybiha expressed gratitude for Honduras’ principled support, remarking:

“Russia’s war has shown that solidarity is not defined by geography. Ukraine greatly values Honduras’ friendship, its support, and its commitment to the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law.” – Andrii Sybiha
