Ukrainian and Polish Ministers Meet in Davos

According to Мін. Економіки: During the World Economic Forum in Davos, ministers from Ukraine and Poland held talks focused on strengthening trade and economic ties. A key outcome was the agreement to establish a joint working group to prepare for the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC-2026), which is scheduled to take place in Poland in the summer of that year. This collaboration aims to ensure the event is organized effectively.

The Ukrainian delegation included Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachka and Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev. Poland was represented by its Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Andrzej Domański. The meeting resulted in a Ukrainian proposal to create a joint task force for URC-2026 preparations and to establish a joint venture fund between Poland's Industrial Development Agency (ARP S.A.) and the Ukraine Investment Framework.

Furthermore, the Polish side confirmed its intention to provide a loan of 1 billion Polish zloty for green reconstruction and the modernization of border infrastructure. Ukrainian officials expressed interest in this financial cooperation, particularly in using the funds to facilitate trade. Discussions also covered the potential for joint management or technical advisory support for at least three industrial parks in Western and Central Ukraine.

Collaboration on Investment Initiatives

The parties also explored cooperation with the Polish development bank BGK to mitigate risks and support small and medium-sized enterprises. Another significant topic was technical assistance for transforming Ukraine's Entrepreneurship Development Fund into a fully functional National Development Institute.

As Andrzej Domański noted, 'The Polish government is interested in investing in reconstruction projects in Ukraine.'

This meeting underscores the deepening cooperation between Ukraine and Poland as they work on Ukraine's economic and infrastructure recovery. With Poland set to host the major Ukraine Recovery Conference in 2026, this bilateral partnership is becoming a crucial platform for shaping reconstruction strategies and investment plans that will benefit both nations.
